Senior Management
Rishi Nursimulu
Founder and Chairman of Dukesbridge, Rishi Nursimulu ranked 6th at the CPE examinations and subsequently became a national Laureate ranking 2nd in Mauritius at the A-Levels. He graduated with BSc Economics at the London School of Economics & Political Science (LSE) and an Executive MBA at Wharton Business School, Pennsylvania. After a successful career as an Investment Banking Director in Mergers & Acquisitions, he returned to Mauritius in 2014 having spent 15 years across USA, Europe and Australia at Merrill Lynch, Société Générale and Barclays Capital. The son of two primary school teachers, Rishi is visionary and passionate about investing in innovative education which he believes sets children up for life. Rishi is a Mauritian and British national.
Shannon Briggs
Australian born and bred, Shannon Briggs, the Managing Director of Dukesbridge, worked as a Cabin Manager for the Qantas airline group until she became a mother in 2009. Her passion almost overnight went from looking after adults to young children, in particular their holistic development by striking a balance between classroom and non-academic activities. Prior to moving to Mauritius in 2014, being married to Rishi, Shannon lived for four years in London where she had the opportunity to become familiar with the early childhood programme in the UK.
Shan Fayd’Herbe de Maudave
Shan Fayd’Herbe de Maudave is the Head of Learning at Dukesbridge at Dukesbridge. She has over 30 years of experience in the education sector, both in South Africa and Mauritius. She relocated to Mauritius in 1996 and spent her first 15 years at Lycée Labourdonnais. She then became the Principal of Westcoast International Primary school in 2012. In 2018, Shan joined Dukesbridge as the Chief Operations Officer. She has worked on the Secondary Maths curriculum and in January 2023, Shan became the Head of Learning and oversees Pre-Primary, Primary and Secondary. In her role, she ensures that the highest quality in both academic and non-academic facets of education at Dukesbridge is maintained. She ensures consistency across all the campuses and that real learning is taking place in a fun and happy environment. She also conducts staff observations where the staff receive feedback and advice.
Executive Team
Kimi Sonatun
Kimi Sonatun is the Chief of Staff at Dukesbridge. . She has a degree in English and joined the organisation as the Executive Assistant for the Director in 2015. Kimi was promoted to the Moka campus manager in 2017 and then became the Events manager in 2019. She also worked at two Dukesbridge campuses in Kenya then was appointed as Zone leader for the Moka region in 2021. Kimi actively collaborates with the directors, senior leaders, and employees. Kimi is the key person for ensuring the everyday smooth running of the schools. She also coordinates the various spectacular events which Dukesbridge puts on throughout the academic year and is currently assisting with the setup of the Secondary school.
Kirsty Lallchand
Kirsty Lallchand is the Head of Primary and Secondary at Dukesbridge. British born Kirsty completed a BA hons at the University of Birmingham before embarking on a career in Education, working with children throughout the different levels of the Pre-primary and Primary sectors, focusing on providing specialised education to children of all ages. She has implemented new strategies and interventions in the UK to enhance children’s learning before moving to Mauritius in 2016 with her Mauritian husband. Kirsty helped develop the Primary school curriculum at Dukesbridge which has been approved by the Ministry of Education.
Sana Janmohamed
Sana Mohung is the Head of Dukesbridge Preschools at Dukesbridge. Sana started her career in a Montessori school in 2010, which encouraged her to pursue her studies in Early Childhood Care and Education and Montessori Pedagogy. She started as a caregiver and gradually moved up the career ladder. She joined Dukesbridge in 2017 as Campus Manager. Sana works closely with the campus managers to ensure a good flow of work.
Sandrine Chan
Sandrine Chan Thean Sen is the Deputy Head of Pre-Primary at Dukesbridge. She started her career in Education at Lighthouse Primary School as a preschool teacher, earning her TAFE (Australia) qualification along the way. She spent a couple of years abroad in Myanmar and Singapore before joining Dukesbridge as Campus Manager in 2021. She was promoted to Zone Leader in 2022 before stepping into her current role in 2023. Sandrine is passionate about Early Childhood Education and spreads her joy of working with children as she moves across the different campuses over the island.
Tracy Sangaramen
Tracy Sangaramen is the Senior Manager North Region at Dukesbridge. Tracy’s journey began when she ventured to Perth, Australia, to pursue her academic aspirations. During her time there, she successfully completed a diploma in Early Childhood Education as well as a diploma in Management and worked in childcare in the beautiful city of Perth. Her international experiences in Australia not only refined her pedagogical approach but also honed her managerial abilities. In 2018, she returned to Mauritius and joined Dukesbridge. She initially began her journey at the Trianon campus as a dedicated Tots teacher, immersing herself in creating a nurturing and stimulating learning environment for the little ones under her care. Recognizing her potential and leadership qualities, she was entrusted with greater responsibilities and assumed the role of Manager at the North pre-primary campus. In her current role as the Senior Manager in the North region, she oversees both the Preprimary and Primary campuses.
Kishore Sungkur
Kishore Sungkur is the Senior Academic Officer at Dukesbridge Primary. Mr Sungkur started as a secondary school teacher in 1972 but after three years, he developed a passion for primary school teaching. Since then, he has worked in a number of State primary schools in the region of Moka, focusing on the senior year students. His hard work, technical abilities and dedication to the teaching profession have been recognised by many communities in the Moka region as well as the Ministry of Education. In 2007, he was promoted as Deputy Head Master and he eventually became the Headmaster of Petit Verger Government School, one of the top-rated State schools in the region. He has also been an English language supervisor, on behalf of the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate, in various schools in the region.
Taweeda Manjoo
Taweeda Manjoo is the Financial Controller at Dukesbridge. She joined the organisation as Accountant in 2018. She started her career in a Big 4 audit firm and worked as an Accountant at Huawei and Poncini. Taweeda did a brief stint as Operations support at a high school while she was studying in the UK. She has extensive experience in finance operations, reporting & analysis, compliance and system implementation. In her role, Taweeda ensures that the financial records are accurate and complies with reporting standards and assists management in day to day decisions by providing financial insights.
