Other Parent Events

School life does not concern staff and students only. Our parents form part of the extended Dukesbridge family. Not only do they get to follow the daily routine of their child via OASIS, our online portal for parents, but they get actively involved in several events we put on for them throughout the year.

Parent Teacher Interviews (PTI)

There is a whole process which goes behind the scenes to make the parents’ experience the best that it can be for PTI which occurs at the end of every term. Final assessments and observations are inputted into a centralised scorecard sheet by the team and vetted by management. Recommendations about special situations as well as Primary students’ comprehensive report cards are discussed and finalised with the Leadership team.

A couple of weeks before the event, parents are invited to book their 15 minute slot with the teacher(s) using an online form which also gives them an opportunity to bring up any concerns they may have. These are looked into by the teachers and discussed with the parents during the PTI. Parents then have the opportunity to complete a feedback form to rate their level of satisfaction and meet with the Leadership team.

Event Information

The form to book your next PTI slot will be available on OASIS and our social media platforms two weeks before the actual event.  Parents are urged to check their OASIS account regularly.

Parenting Seminars

We organise parenting seminars that focus on relevant issues faced by parents such as common childhood illnesses, behaviour management and early detection of learning development needs such as speech development, dyslexia, autism, ADHD etc.

Throughout the seminar, internal and external professionals with whom we have built relationships are given precise topics to cover. A lively question and answer time with the learned panel of presenters is always a highlight.

Event Information

The seminar usually takes place in November. It is open to Dukesbridge parents as well as prospective parents. Should you be interested in the next seminar, please fill out the form below and we will send you an invitation when the schedule is published.

Father’s Day

Fathers deserve to feel special just like the mothers. We celebrate Father’s Day in September as per the Australian events calendar. On the Friday prior to the special day, we host the dads of a selected age group on campus for either a morning or afternoon tea.

In true Dukesbridge style, the dads let their guards down and participate in some games, treasure hunts and dancing with their kids. It is a nice way for the fathers to bond with their children and to reflect on their role as fun-loving-caring role models.

Event Information

The fathers of students from a couple of classes receive an invitation by email to an hour of fun on campus. Every year, we rotate classes to make sure all dads are treated at least once throughout school life. To update your email address on our records, please contact your campus manager.

Parent Teach-in Sessions

We invite parents for some teach-in sessions on campus every now and then to brief them about the ways we teach some fundamental items to their children. For example, we invited parents to school for a teach-in session on letter formation.

With the aim of avoiding children getting confused when practising their penmanship at home, parents were provided with our 4-line template and a pencil. With the help of teachers, they literally went through the letters A to Z.

Event Information

The teach-in sessions are restricted to Dukesbridge parents of children in specific age groups. They happen a couple of times per year and cover topics and methods used by teachers in class. Register your interest below to be included on our mailing list.

Parent Information Sessions

We believe that it is important for parents to understand the way things are done at Dukesbridge before they register or the first day of school for their child. With this in mind, we conduct a pre-registration curriculum info session for parents interested in our primary school.

We also hold an onboarding session for parents of the new TOTS intakes prior to the start of the academic year and take time to cover topics such as tips for a smooth adaptation, login into our parents’ portal, our policies, meet the teachers and so on.

Event Information

Onboarding and induction sessions for new parents joining Dukesbridge take place in the month prior to Term 1. Information sessions for Primary admissions take place in August and places are usually limited due to high demand. Priority is given to Dukesbridge preschoolers. Should you be interested, please fill out the form below.

Parent Volunteering

During the course of the year, parents have the opportunity to volunteer for example as officials at the Dukesbridge Games or helping with costume making and stage decor for the Dukesbridge Musical.

Being on team in a voluntary capacity for an event or even on our medical and legal advisory panels is a great way to meet other parents, to get to know management and to feel more connected to the school.

Event Information

If you are an existing Dukesbridge parent, would like to be part of the medical, legal or maintenance panels, would like to sponsor an event or would like to volunteer in one way or another at Dukesbridge, please complete the following form giving as much detail as possible in terms of how you can assist. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
