The Dukesbridge Blog

Those who know me know that I love a good chat about parenting. I love talking to parents of toddlers, particularly first time parents, about their parenting experiences thus far, about their dreams and hopes for their children and about doing what is best for them. This week I had the opportunity to meet a number of parents that had come to check out our brand new campus in Moka and I must say that I was fascinated by some that expressed their dilemma of whether or not it was in the best interest of the child to be at nursery from the age of 2.

Run baby Run

This weekend, I finally took my two boys to our recently purchased house which is in the middle of renovations. As I sat down on a giant rock in the backyard under the shelter of a tree blowing in the wind while my husband was discussing with the workmen, I watched my boys running wild and free on the grass, chasing each other, screaming at each other and having a jolly good time.  I noticed that the clouds had gathered and it began to trickle a little at that point but nothing would stop the kids, I did nothing to stop the kids.  In fact, my mind began drifting back to my own childhood and with a smile on my face, I just could not help reminiscing about all the backyard fun I had a few decades ago now.
